NALEDI
Child piano prodigy and Edinburgh based singer/songwriter Naledi has taken her husky, modern soul sound in a contemporary direction with her debut mixtape Dark Soul.
Working alongside established producer Nasty P, founder of record company Soul Biscuits and Edinburgh’s premier club night ‘I Love Hip Hop’, who has worked with acclaimed artists such as Akil from Jurassic 5, rhymsayers Oddisee, Skinnyman, Florence and the Machine and many others. Nasty P was also notably the global winner of the Stoli Original TV prize 2012; his evocative Hip Hop sound merges with Naledi’s dulcet tones to create an exciting new genre of music.
Dark Soul, also her first E.P’s namesake, is a cutting edge merging of electronic Hip Hop and neoteric soul, the collaboration from the two has formed a sound that will pique the interest of classic Hip Hop enthusiasts and explorative modern music fans alike. With Naledi already gaining popularity on Scotland’s esoteric music scene for her unique style and performance, and with her tracks being played on leading radio stations, she is set to take the urban music world by storm. Look out for Naledi touring the UK this summer and her mixtape ‘Dark Soul’ (March Release) followed by her debut album in the coming months.
